Abbey Community College students (Curtis and Jade pictured above) met with Education Minister, Mr Peter Weir on a recent visit to Monkstown Boxing Club. The Minister praised an ‘education in the community’ programme aimed at improving educational achievement for young people.

Moat Primary School Primary 7 pupils recently celebrated the school’s Ditch the Dark Day.

CSSC recently collaborated with the Centre for Research in Educational Underachievement on a pilot research project investigating views on male primary teachers.  CSSC also took part in a podcast that has been launched to accompany the report. The gender difference podcast can be accessed here.

PlayBoard Northern Ireland (NI), the lead organisation for the development and promotion of children and young people’s play are hosting a webinar focusing on the school day within the Covid-19 restrictions and Department of Education Education Restart Programme.

‘Sarah’s Reflection’ by 12 year old artist Zara Craig, a pupil at Ballyclare High School, is one of seven County Antrim artworks to win a top prize in this year’s 66th Texaco Children’s Art Competition.
