International win for Regent House pupil
Congratulations to Lucy McGonigle, Year 10 at Regent House, who won the Teens aged 13-14 Crossfit Trials Final which took place in January.
The International Crossfit Trials involved 73 countries. It was split into 3 groups, The Spanish Trials (Europe) The US Trials and The Latin Trials (Latin America).
Lucy qualified for the world finals in December by finishing in the top 3 places in Europe.
The world finals took place in a live virtual event featuring competitors from across the world. In an exciting finale, Lucy was placed top of her age group, winning the final round of events with a maximum score.
Well done Lucy, the school’s very own World Champion!
Lucy shared her excitement,
“It was a great competition which made it nerve-wracking to watch and I ended up winning by 3 points and even completed a workout the organisers had said nobody would complete....the only competitor in the entire competition to finish it!”
