Queen’s New Year 2021 Honours list

Congratulations to the Queen’s New Year Honours list of award recipients for 2021. Honours are given to people from all walks of life and all sections of society who have made a difference to their community.

Shane McCurdy, Interim Chief Executive, CSSC commented,

“Many congratulations to the 2021 recipients of the Queen’s New Year honours, in particular those that have worked in or contributed to the controlled education sector.”

Recipients include:

Derek Baker, (former) Permanent Secretary, Department of Education, Northern Ireland Executive for public service.

Hugh Bell, Chairman, Board of Governors, Aughnacloy College, for voluntary service to Education in Northern Ireland.

Isabella Collum, Fivemiletown, for services to Young People and to the community in Fivemiletown, County Tyrone.

William McElhinney, Lately Principal, Ashlea Primary School, Londonderry, for services to Primary Education in Northern Ireland.

Thomas Robinson, currently vice-chairman of Carnalbanagh Primary School Board of Governors, as well as a school governor at Cairncastle Primary School and Larne High School, for voluntary service to Education in Larne, County Antrim.
