  3. Personal Ethos 2024/25

    Personal Ethos image

     

    This theme investigates the personal ethos of staff and the key contributions they make towards establishing the ethos, strategic direction and priorities for school improvement. Participants will self-reflect on their values, emotional intelligence and leadership styles and be encouraged to challenge themselves to develop their leadership capacity through a coaching approach.   

  4. School Ethos 2024/25

    This theme assesses, explores and affirms the identity of a school through an audit of its ethos and the creation of an agreed ethos statement. Facilitated by CSSC and using the CSSC Self-Evaluative Ethos Toolkit schools can revisit their values, vision and mission and consider how to consolidate their ethos through policies and procedures. There is the potential for schools to explore how their ethos reflects trauma sensitive approaches.

  5. Governor Ethos 2024/25

    Governor Ethos

    This theme recognises the vital role of Governors in defining and maintaining the ethos of the school. Participants in these modules will have opportunities to explore a range of topics related to school ethos such as school improvement, Trauma Informed Practice and the impact of community.

    In addition to the three on-line sessions on specified dates, Governors can access pre-recorded development sessions from CSSC's Governor webpage here.  

  6. Improvement Ethos 2024/25

    This theme promotes a self-evaluative, research-informed approach to leading school improvement and considers the importance of effective teams. Strategic thinking, positive mindsets, collaborative and nurturing approaches are characteristics considered under the ethos of improvement and participants will reflect on how they contribute to fostering and developing high standards of achievement.

    CSSC works in partnership with EA, to raise standards and outcomes within the controlled sector.

  8. Knockbreda Nursery School goes for Gold!

    Knockbreda Nursery is a stand alone controlled school, situated on the same campus as Knockbreda Primary School, Belfast.  

  9. CSSC's Ethos and Leadership programme 2024/25

    CSSC's Ethos and Leadership programme for 2024/25 is now open for booking. Further details of the Ethos and Leadership programme can be accessed here.

  10. CSSC Sign Language programme - over 1200 pupils taught sign languge in 33 controlled primary schools

    CSSC has supported controlled schools by facilitating a programme to create an inclusive deaf-friendly learning environment which was available to schools educating children with severe/profound hearing loss. The programme gave pupils the opportunity to participate in interactive sign language workshops.

    The conclusion of the programme included the launch of two support videos at an event at Cregagh Primary School.

    The programme was funded by the Department for Communities and has enabled CSSC to support 1,200 pupils in 33 controlled schools to learn and raise awareness of sign language.
