  1. Could you be a governor in a controlled school?

    Applications are now open for those interested in becoming a Governor in a controlled school.

    The controlled sector is the largest, most diverse education sector comprising 49% of all schools across all phases: nursery, special, primary, secondary, grammar, integrated & Irish-medium schools.  Controlled schools are #OpenToAll, welcoming children and young people of all faiths and now, richly diverse and inclusive, reflective of and embedded in the communities they serve.  Governors have an important role in developing and leading ethos in controlled schools.

    To outline the unique role of a Transferor governor, enable us to meet with Transferor Governors and find out how the Transferor Representatives’ Council (TRC) and CSSC can support them in their role.

    There will be an opportunity to meet with members of TRC and find out how TRC represents the Transferor governors at all levels in education.

  3. Education Chief Executives issue joint letter to Northern Ireland Secretary of State

    Chief Executives of the seven main education bodies in Northern Ireland have issued a joint letter to the Northern Ireland Secretary of State.

    They have collectively repeated their call for sustained investment, fair pay for all our staff and continued investment in the transformation of services.

  7. Controlled school leaders - every day a school day!

    CSSC provides high quality professional support enabling controlled school leaders to raise standards and make an impact in their schools. In this academic year 2023/24 controlled school leaders signed up to participate in CSSC’s Ethos and Leadership programme, Building Capacity module. This module addresses one strategic priority in the School Development Plan focused on improving learning and teaching.

  9. CSSC engagement events - Education Authority Locality 3

    Controlled school Principals and Chairs of Governors are invited to engage in discussions about current and future challenges specific to the controlled sector.
