Glenlola Collegiate College has been in celebratory mode this year with many successes throughout the school this academic year. Strengths shining through from dance to public speaking and swimming to hockey, an amazing array of creativity and talent has been shown by all pupils.

CSSC welcomes progress to end school industrial action

The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) has today, Thursday, 13 June 2019, welcomed that teaching unions and employers have reached an agreement in principle to end long-running industrial action.

Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow made a memorable visit to Wellington College on Friday 7 June 2019. Mr Bercow gave a fascinating insight into the practical workings of Westminster, including how during his time as Speaker the Parliamentary shooting gallery has shut down, but daycare for children of working mums has been introduced.

Resilience of controlled school leaders acknowledged at AGM

CSSC’s 3rd AGM took place in Cookstown on 16 May 2019. Attended by schools and guests from across Northern Ireland, Council was delighted to welcome the choir from Sperrinview Special School who performed a medley of Abba songs followed by a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow accompanied by Makaton signing. Cookstown High School pupils performed a short drama on resilience and overcoming adversity.
