Newtownhamilton High School has produced excellent GCSE results according to the newly published Department of Education figures for the 15/16 academic year.

Fairview Primary School choir were in fine voice when they came third in BBC Radio Ulster School Choir of the Year Junior Final on 30 April.

Regent House School, Newtownards was named as Northern Ireland’s top senior school choir at BBC Radio Ulster School Choir of the Year live final on Sunday 30 April.

The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) is pleased to announce today, Monday 8 May, the appointment of Mr Mark Orr QC as chairperson of Council and Mr Andrew Brown as vice-chairperson.

As well visiting the home economics department, where Year 9 pupils were making a delicious dinner of homemade beef burgers with salad and coleslaw, Barry spoke with Principal Neil Megaw.

As a brand new organisation, one of the first priorities for the Controlled Schools’ Support Council was to develop a logo.  Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 students from member schools were invited to design a logo to be used by the Council.

The new education advocacy body for controlled schools was officially launched on Wednesday 8 March at its inaugural AGM, at which it also elected its Directors.
