  1. Lisneal College extends shared education learning

    Lisneal College has worked closely over the past three years with their Shared Education Partner schools, St Cecilia’s College and St Mary’s College, to explore how to further develop thinking skills and personal capabilities across Key Stage 3.

  2. Rathcoole Primary School – Forest School is in session

    As a Champion Forest school, Rathcoole Primary School and Nursery Unit has worked alongside Brian Poots, Northern Ireland Forest School Association (NIFSCA) for several years, with Emma Quinn, Principal and Louise McLean (SENCo and Nurture) as the Forest School Leaders. "Forest School" is based on a Scandinavian idea that considers children's contact with nature to be extremely important from an early age.

  3. CSSC and TRC MoU

    The MoU sets out a framework for the Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) and Transferor Representatives’ Council (TRC) to work together for the interests of controlled schools. The purpose of this MoU is to clearly identify the respective roles and responsibilities of each party (CSSC and TRC). 

  4. Special Educational Needs (SEN) consultations

    The Education Authority has recently launched a public consultation on two frameworks which set out the vision, rationale and delivery plans for SEN provision across Northern Ireland.   

  5. Schools Think Next - What does the future look like for education in Northern Ireland?

    Schools Think Next is a series of online conversations that will provide a space to engage with ideas about the future of education in Northern Ireland schools. 

  6. UK-German Connection launches digital initiatives

    UK-German Connection is dedicated to increasing contacts and understanding between young people in the UK and Germany. They are launching two new digital initiatives, a UK-German youth newsletter and a series of webinars on the theme of sustainability in food and fashion.

  7. Parkhall Principal honoured in Queen’s Birthday Honours List

    Congratulations to Stephen Baillie BEM, Principal, Parkhall Primary School for his recognition in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for services to education and community during the Covid-19 pandemic.

  8. (CSSC) Non-Selective Post-Primary Leadership Scholarship available

    The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) is pleased to announce a Scholarship Scheme for leaders of non-selective controlled post-primary schools. 

  9. Access up to £3,000 for STEM projects

    Your school could access up to £3,000 to run an investigative STEM project in partnership with a STEM professional (from academia or industry) from the Royal Society’s Partnership Grants scheme.

  10. Limavady High School launches anniversary badge

    Year 11 pupil, Poppy Miller, was the winner of an online competition to design a special anniversary badge to celebrate 60 years of Limavady High School educating young people in the Roe Valley.
