Staff at Rathcoole Primary School and Nursery Unit welcomed their Primary 7 and Primary 1 pupils, in the same week, with every child back in the school on 1 September.

Limavady Grammar School were delighted to welcome their new Year 8 cohort. The pupils have settled very well and have completed their first few weeks at school.

Mrs Lynn Kerr, Glengormley High School, was honoured with a Silver Award in The Award for Excellence in Special Needs Education at this year’s Pearson National Teachers Awards.

Derryboy Primary School, County Down and Culcrow Primary School, County Londonderry have been collaborating on a unique venture that showcased a creative and vibrant style of learning. 

Hart Memorial Primary School in Portadown has been supporting the health and wellbeing of their pupils in these changed times. The school has introduced creative opportunities to help keep children active, fit and healthy, ensuring no child is left behind.

It was clear Year 8 pupils were excited to enter a much bigger school than they left back in March, for the beginning of their Limavady High School journey.

As communicated to schools by the Education Authority (EA) at the start of September, the Education Minister has made funds available to support schools in mitigating additional costs incurred as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The local community group in Rathcoole (R.A.T.H) recently approached Rathcoole Primary School and Nursery Unit offering additional support with much needed stationery and supplies for their pupils.

The Department of Education recently launched a public consultation on new draft Special Educational Needs (SEN) Regulations and draft SEN Code of Practice. Extended until 5pm on Tuesday 19 January 2021.
