    The controlled sector is the largest education sector accounting for 49% of all Northern Ireland’s schools, including 63 nursery schools, 380 primary schools and 69 post primary schools. Controlled schools are open to all faiths and none which brings a rich diversity and inclusive ethos.

    CSSC is delighted to invite the leaders of special schools to a Teacher Professional Learning event which will take place on Monday 21 March from 1.30pm to 4pm. We would encourage you to share this invitation with up to three members of your Senior Leadership Team. 

    The event, informed by our special school Principals, will be facilitated by Jonathan Peach from The Art of Brilliance. Drawing on over 15 years of research into positive psychology, Jonathan will encourage attendees to consider how we can lead our teams productively and creatively when the world is doing its worst.

  4. Shared education partnership message delivered in a song

    As part of their shared education partnership the pupils of Killowen Primary School and St John’s Primary School, Coleraine have worked throughout the pandemic to Take 5 steps to wellbeing.

  5. Investment for Nurture Groups as part of the Fair Start Action Plan

    An investment of over £3 million will be made this year to establish 16 new Nurture Groups in primary schools across Northern Ireland as part of the Fair Start Action Plan. CSSC supports the Fair Start Action Plan which aims to tackle persistent educational underachievement.

  6. Jones Memorial Primary School’s breakfast club receives £1,000 Award

    Jones Memorial Primary School is open to all and has been serving the community of Enniskillen since 1906.

  7. £794 million investment in schools

    An estimated £794million is to be invested in schools.

  8. Beyond the stereotype - Education Workshop

    A lively discussion involving around 50 representatives from churches, schools and a range of other key organisations with a role in education took place in Portadown, on Friday (25th March) with a view to helping children and young people to reach their full potential. Mark Baker, CSSC Chief Executive took part in a panel discussion at the event.
