  1. A year of success for Glenlola Collegiate College

    Glenlola Collegiate College has been in celebratory mode this year with many successes throughout the school this academic year. Strengths shining through from dance to public speaking and swimming to hockey, an amazing array of creativity and talent has been shown by all pupils.

  2. Hair-raising activities at Banbridge Academy

    Generous pupils and staff of Banbridge Academy have raised over £2000 through having their hair cut.

  3. Best Principal award for Rathcoole Primary School

    Congratulations to Emma Quinn, Principal of Rathcoole Primary School and Nursery Unit who was awarded “Best Principal” by Families First NI at its ceremony on 15 June.

  5. CSSC member survey

    To ensure that CSSC is meeting the needs of the controlled sector, all member schools were given the opportunity to share their views through a survey sent to member schools at the end of February 2019.

    This analysis explores the responses given by school Principals and will help to shape CSSC’s programme of work and ensure that the work it does is beneficial to controlled schools individually, and for the sector as a whole.

  6. Problem solving conference for teachers

    An international conference focused on problem solving in technology rich environments is being hosted by the Controlled Schools’ Support Council on 20 August 2019 in Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College.

  7. Celebration of inclusion and diversity in Ballymena

    Ballymena Nursery, Castle Tower Nursery Unit and First Steps Community Playgroup hosted a celebration of inclusion and diversity concert for the pupils’ parents and families in May 2019.

    Congratulations to Cortamlet Primary School, crowned ‘Best kept primary school 2019 (southern region).

  9. DUP leader Arlene Foster visits CSSC

    CSSC Chief Executive Barry Mulholland was pleased to welcome DUP leader Arlene Foster to our offices this week to discuss a range of local and Northern Ireland-wide education issues.

  10. Learning from each other – sharing in education

    This report provides a snapshot of shared education practice across the controlled sector and the partnerships that exist. It showcases the actions some schools have taken to develop shared education projects, as well as exploring the benefits, challenges and pitfalls.
