CSSC's recent report, 'Attainment and performance in the controlled sector’, explores patterns of attainment in Northern Ireland’s largest school sector. To accompany the report a series of case studies have been published looking at good practice across the sector. This article provides an overview of Markethill High School’s case study.
The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) provides professional learning and development opportunities for staff in controlled schools, and assists schools to raise standards of achievement. CSSC provides learning and development opportunities in collaboration with the Education Authority.
Through participation in area planning, CSSC represents the interests of both the controlled sector as a whole and individual controlled schools.
CSSC supports controlled schools by working in collaboration with education partners to identify innovative, creative and shared education solutions to provide sustainable school provision.
