  1. The Armstrong Primary are McCloy Cup Champions

    The Armstrong Primary School girls' hockey team was crowned Northern Ireland champions and McCloy Cup winners at Stormont on 18 April.

    CSSC member school, Omagh Academy, was host to the most recent Council meeting on Thursday 19 April 2018.

  3. Ethos and shared education in Limavady High School

    CSSC is currently exploring ethos in controlled schools through a working group, research project and most recently a conference.  Darren Mornin, Principal of Limavady High School has since reflected on the ethos the school community aspires to and has shared his thoughts with us.

  4. Official opening of the Holmes Wing at Ballymoney High School

    CSSC Chief Executive, Barry Mulholland was delighted to attend the official opening of the Holmes Wing at Ballymoney High School on Tuesday 5 December.

  5. Aughnacloy Primary gains prestigious UNICEF rights award

    Congratulations to CSSC member school Aughnacloy Primary School on gaining the Unicef UK Level 2 Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA).

  6. Win for Killicomaine JHS in inaugural Danske Bank High School shield

    Killicomaine Junior High School won the inaugural Under 14 High Schools’ Shield  at Queens University playing fields, defeating Dromore High School in a fast paced competitive match. This year, the competition has taken a new format, moving away from a one-day ‘blitz’ style tournament, to 50-minute group stage matches, semi-finals and a final played on a finals day.

  7. Realising your potential on International Women's Day

    CSSC welcomed 40 controlled sector leaders to our first International Women’s Day event on Thursday 8 March 2018.

  8. Controlled schools continue to face financial pressure

    Further to the letter from the Department of Education issued this week regarding the budget position for 2018/19 and the share for each school, concerns are being raised with CSSC that, despite their best efforts, schools will continue to struggle to balance their books within their budget allocation this year.

  9. CSSC AGM relocated to Oz

    The venue for CSSC’s AGM on 8 March was briefly turned into Oz, as delegates were treated to a fabulous performance by students from Markethill High School, who performed a medley from their latest production, the Wizard of Oz.

  10. Sporting success for Killicomaine

    Killicomaine Junior High School was recently awarded a second place 'highly commended’ in the Youth Sports Trust awards ‘Best Secondary School of the Year’ for its outstanding contribution to the Girls Active programme.
