Top Award for Lurgan College Young Enterprise Company

‘Inspire Natural’, from Lurgan College have been crowned the Best Company in Northern Ireland at the recent Young Enterprise NI Final.

They fought off stiff competition to achieve not only the coveted company of the year accolade but also, the Highest Sales Award. Education Minister, Mr Peter Weir, MLA, recently visited Lurgan College to present the brilliant Young Enterprise company with the award.

‘Inspire Natural’ offer a range of diverse and sustainable products including reusable make-up pads, bamboo toothbrushes and innovative shampoo bars. This hardworking team is made up of Year 13 pupils Eleanor Lockhart, Heather Archer, Madison McConaghie, Siena McConaghie and Victoria Williamson. Led by Managing Director Siena, she was quickly able to analyse her team members’ strengths and place them in various roles to form this successful company. Despite many challenges they have faced this year due to the changing nature of selling, they were able to convert successfully to an online platform which allowed their sales to soar. Intuitive marketing and meeting customer demands rendered them a force to be reckoned with. 

Mr Trevor Robinson, Headmaster, Lurgan College expressed his delight at the success of the school’s Young Enterprise Company’s, adding,

“The pupils’ wonderful achievement is all the more remarkable given the unique set of circumstances we all find ourselves in at the moment. I am very proud of the girls’ commitment, dedication and resilience and I thank their teacher, Ms Eleanor Hughes, for all her enthusiastic and inspirational help in supporting this group of incredibly talented young people.”
