Regent House School named Northern Ireland’s top senior school choir
Regent House School, Newtownards was named as Northern Ireland’s top senior school choir at BBC Radio Ulster School Choir of the Year live final on Sunday 30 April.
The choir, led by Head of Music and Conductor Colin McQueen, performed three songs on the night. Commenting on the choir’s success Colin said
We were obviously delighted to have won this prestigious national competition and our students are still buzzing with excitement. This success comes from years of development in both personal musicianship on the part of the pupils and the thriving musical environment of the Music Department in Regent House.
The competition was fiercely fought and any one of the three finalist choirs could have won. This was an occasion that our young people will remember for the rest of their lives.
CSSC chief executive, Barry Mulholland congratulated Regent House on their success
