Following on from the historic success of Antrim Grammar School’s A Level results last week, the school has enjoyed further outstanding success at GCSE level today, Thursday, August 22, 2019.

Remarkably, 100 percent of pupils achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Mathematics with an impressive 97 percent of pupils achieving 7 or more A* to C grades including English and Mathematics.

The results are well above the Northern Ireland grammar school averages and confirm Antrim Grammar School as a centre of excellence where pupils are inspired to reach their full potential.

Principal, Mrs Jenny Lendrum said,

"Today is such a proud day for Antrim Grammar School.

The Year 12 pupils have demonstrated commitment, determination and perserverance over the last two years and today they are reaping the rewards of their hard work. I am so proud of the pupils’ academic and personal achievements today and I am delighted that these amazing grades will now allow each pupil to progress to the next stage of their education.

“It is an honour for me to celebrate today with pupils, parents, staff and governors as everyone has had a part to play in today’s wonderful results. I would like to pay tribute to the staff who go above and beyond academically and pastorally year upon year and to the parents who are so supportive of all aspects of school life.

“I am excited for all of the Year 12 pupils who are preparing now for A Level study in Antrim Grammar School or are pursuing other career pathways.

“Not only are they a credit to themselves and their parents/guardians, but also to the school, and I am proud of each and every one of them.

“The future is bright for all who received results today.”
