Further win for Bangor Academy at Young Enterprise

Further success for controlled School Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College entrepreneurs who succeeded in gaining third place in the Young Enterprise Company of the Year national final, in addition to winning ‘Best Promotional Video’.

This national recognition follows their Northern Ireland success when they won no fewer than six awards at the Young Enterprise Big Market Trade Fair in Bloomfield Shopping Centre.

The 2022/23 Business Studies AS students created an ethical pet toy and accessories business called Fur Real. At the regional event their sales, branding, marketing and customer service skills were recognised by the Young Enterprise judges who declared that they ‘stole the show’.

The team then moved on to win the NI Area Competition, ultimately taking third place in the UK final on 6 June.

Graham Farhall, Head Judge, Delta Airlines commented:

“The school’s promotional video really stood out for its entertainment value.”

Mrs Gillian Murray, Head of Business Studies, Bangor Academy said:

“I could not be more proud of this amazing bunch. They worked so hard whilst building their knowledge, confidence, business skills, resilience and an enterprising mindset. Best of all, they had a lot of fun!”
