Independent Review of Education – interim report released

The Independent Review panel has released the interim report of The Independent Review of Education.

Independent Review of Education interim report

The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) contributed to the report in a written submission and participated in evidence sessions with the panel as the advocacy body representing 49% of schools in Northern Ireland. CSSC will continue to support controlled schools as the review unfolds.

The Panel’s work represents a fundamental review of the Northern Ireland education system with a focus on quality, equity and sustainability of the system.

In September 2021 Minister of Education Michelle McIlveen MLA appointed the following to undertake the review:

Sir Gerry Loughran (Vice-Chairperson)

Marie Lindsay

Robin McLoughlin OBE

Isabel Nisbet
