CSSC congratulates King's Birthday Honours recipients

The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) congratulates all recipients from the education sector recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours list, with a special mention to those honoured in the controlled sector. Honours are given to people from all walks of life and all sections of society who have made a difference to their community.

CSSC Chief Executive, Mark Baker said "I want to congratulate all those honoured  from controlled schools as they make a difference to their community, clearly demonstrating their open to all ethos and their place in the local community through their contribution to the education of children and young people". 

Recipients include:

Mr Stephen Joseph Harrison, Lately Principal, Gilnahirk Primary School, Belfast who has been awarded an MBE for services to Education in Northern Ireland.

Mr John Madden BEM ,Principal, Roddensvale School, Larne who has been awarded an MBE For services to Education and to Children with Special Educational Needs.

Mr Andrew McCartney Kennedy, Chair, Board of Governors, Ballykeel Primary School, Ballymena who has been awarded a BEM for voluntary service to Education and to the community in Ballymena.

Mr Stephen William John Mulligan, Principal, Mossley Primary School, Newtownabbey who has been awarded an MBE for services to Education.

Mrs Catherine Maria Quinn, Principal,  Abbey Community College, Newtownabbey who has been awarded an MBE for services to Education.

Mr Samuel Taylor, School Caretaker, Windsor Hill Primary School, Newry who has been awarded a BEM for services to Education and to the community in Newry.
