Controlled schools’ success at bar mock trials

Congratulations to Glenlola Collegiate, Ballyclare High school and Banbridge Academy for reaching the final stage of the Northern Ireland Bar Mock Trials competition. Three out of the four successful finalists represent the controlled sector.

Glenlola Collegiate bar mock trials

This high-profile annual competition allows students aged 15-18 from all over the UK to gain unparalleled insight into the justice system. The competition immerses students in all aspects of a criminal trial, as they take on the roles of barristers, witnesses, clerks, ushers and jury members. It is a unique opportunity in which most of the top grammar schools participate.

This is the second time Glenlola Collegiate has progressed to the UK finals, which is a tremendous accomplishment.

The National Final for this year’s Bar Mock Trial Competition will be at the Old Bailey, on the 21 March 2020. Good luck to all finalists.
