Collaborative Learning: Work underway on major Shared Education campus in Omagh

Education Minister Paul Givan attended the sod-cutting ceremony for the Strule Shared Education Campus in Omagh recently alongside Northern Ireland's First Minister Michelle O'Neill and Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly.

The ambitious 140-acre development, located on the former Lisanelly Army base, will bring together over 4,000 children and young people from six different schools and diverse backgrounds when completed in September 2028.

A Vision for Shared Learning

While each school will maintain its unique identity and ethos, the campus will enable collaborative curriculum delivery and joint extra-curricular activities in a modern, vibrant learning environment.

When completed, the Strule Shared Education Campus will transform the educational landscape in Omagh, creating new opportunities for collaboration and shared learning across communities.

Schools working together towards a shared future in Omagh include: controlled schools including Arvalee School and Resource Centre, Omagh Academy Grammar School, and Omagh High School and Christian Brothers Grammar School, Loreto Grammar School, Sacred Heart College.

CSSC continues to support our children and young people being educated together and believes that shared education is critical in our changing society.
