Bangor Academy crowned Northern Ireland Young Enterprise Company of the Year

Controlled school Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College’s Young Enterprise Team is celebrating as the top student company in Northern Ireland in the 2023 Young Enterprise Competition.

Fur Real, Bangor Academy’s Young Enterprise team made up of Year 13 and 14 students, proved their entrepreneurial expertise by coming top in the Northern Ireland stage of the Young Enterprise annual business competition.

Their business, Fur-Real, created a range of upcycled dog toys which proved extremely popular with shoppers across the charity’s Big Market events this year. The group competed against almost 80 student companies from across Northern Ireland and will now represent Northern Ireland at the Young Enterprise UK Company Final Awards in June.

Fur Real have been supported throughout their journey by business advisor Sarah Harvey, as well as Business Studies teachers Mrs Gillian Murray and Mr Andy Magee.

CSSC congratulates Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College as one of the 547 controlled schools in Northern Ireland that CSSC supports to include nursery, primary, secondary, grammar, integrated, special & Irish-medium schools.
