Antrim Grammar School Pop Up Restaurant

On Saturday 8 February 2020, Year 13 students from Antrim Grammar School (AGS) organised and ran a community Pop Up Restaurant. It was the first of its kind in Northern Ireland within a school setting!

Students planned, marketed, prepared, cooked and delivered every aspect of the evening under the watchful eye of celebrity chef Mark Lloyd. Mark has successfully facilitated many Pop Up Restaurants in the UK. His first venture into NI did not disappoint as he said he was 'blown away' by the students' organisation and enthusiasm.

AGS were delighted to host ninety very generous guests from the local area who embraced this charity event wholeheartedly, contributing to a final fundraising total of £2,130.

Local businesses contributed by donating everything from chicken fillets to silverware. Every course on the menu was covered by local business and this enabled all funds to go to the students' mental health charity of choice, Made for More.

The stars of the show were without doubt the AGS students ably assisted by staff member Mrs Creighton. Guests were overwhelmed by the attention to detail and their professionalism in servitude.
