  1. Banbridge Academy wins Action MS' Bronze Boot

    At the recent Action MS Awards ceremony in Belfast, Banbridge Academy were once again delighted to win the prestigious Bronze Boot.

    The Banbridge Academy Bar Mock Trial team participated in the Northern Ireland heat of the Bar Mock Trial competition on Saturday 24 November at the Royal Courts of Justice, Belfast. 

  3. CSSC and SUC affirm commitment to collaboration

    The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) and Stranmillis University College (SUC) have today, Monday, 21 January 2019, signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

  4. Focus on attainment: Laurelhill Community College

    CSSC's recent report, 'Attainment and performance in the controlled sector’, explores patterns of attainment in Northern Ireland’s largest school sector. To accompany the report a series of case studies have been published looking at good practice across the sector. This article provides an overview of Laurelhill Community College’s case study.

  5. School leaders to meet with MPs over education funding

    Representatives from the Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) will highlight ongoing concerns over the shortfall in the education budget at a meeting of the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee on Monday 28 January 2019.

  6. CSSC and SUC MoU

    The MoU sets out a framework for the Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) and Stranmillis University College (SUC) to work together for the interests of controlled schools. The purpose of this MoU is to clearly identify the respective roles and responsibilities of each party (CSSC and SUC).

  8. International learning to enhance problem solving in maths

    In January 2018 CSSC launched an exciting new Erasmus+ project which will enhance pupil performance in solving problems within mathematics.

  9. Controlled school pupils immersed in Barcelona tech showcase

    Pupils from Abbey Community College and Regent House School are amongst 100 students representing 10 schools from across Northern Ireland participating MCW19, the world’s leading technology showcase event held in Barcelona.
