  2. A Message from the Church of Ireland Board of Education (NI)

    The Church of Ireland Board of Education (Northern Ireland) welcomes the return to school of all pupils and staff in person. The Board wishes to express its concern at the cost-of-living crisis and the impact it is having on both families who struggle to afford the costs of equipping young people for school and also the impact on school running costs. This is particularly the case where the true picture of long-term funding has been disguised during the period of subsidy during the worst of the Covid pandemic.

  6. Retiring Principals celebrated at event

    Retired Principals from controlled schools were celebrated and thanked at an event jointly hosted by the Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) and Education Authority.

  7. CSSC response to DE Consultation on Children and Young People’s Strategy (CYPS) Delivery Plan, 2021 - 2024

    CSSC, informed by ongoing engagement with controlled schools welcomed the opportunity to comment on the Department of Education’s consultation on the Children and Young People’s Strategy initial 3 year Delivery Plan 2021 – 2024.

    CSSC understands that the strategy which is a legislative requirement under the Children’s Services Co-Operation Act (NI) 2015, is designed to ‘provide a Northern Ireland wide holistic structure to drive forward and monitor how Departments are progressing agreed outcomes to improve the wellbeing of children and young people.’

  10. Limavady High School is Gold Winner of the Making a Difference Award - Secondary School of the Year 2022!

    Mark Baker, CSSC Chief Executive, congratulated the controlled school and their Principal who is also a CSSC Director, Darren Mornin.
