The trip to the annual tech-fest is an integral element of the mTech.Academy programme, which combines innovative technology, creativity and real-world skills development to help prepare young people for the future of work.

While at MWC19, the students will experience “intelligent connectivity”, the powerful combination of massive high-speed connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI) first-hand. This is an incredible learning opportunity for local students from the controlled sector who will benefit immensely from this educational visit.

While at MWC19, m.Tech.Academy founder, former Banbridge Academy teacher Diane Morrow, will deliver a keynote address presenting how the mTech.Academy is delivering experiential learning for students in Northern Ireland.  Diane’s presentation will underscore the critical connection between industry and education and how this will create new opportunities for students, teachers and employers alike.

Schools participating in the mTech.Academy programme for the 2018/19 school year are: Abbey Community College; Aquinas Grammar School; Assumption Grammar School; Bangor Grammar School; Regent House School; St. Cecilia’s College; St. Ciaran’s College; Saint Conor’s College; St. Ronan’s College; and Strangford Integrated College.

mTech.Academy is supported by: PwC (Strategic Partner); Grant Thornton (Learning Partner); BT, Dawson Andrews, Instil, Novosco and Smiley Monroe (Industry Partners); and Around Noon, Bespoke Communications, Glandore, MCE Public Relations, Tenacity Works and W5 (Supporting Partners).
