Lisneal celebrates record breaking GCSE results
There was a celebratory mood in Lisneal College on Thursday 23 August when pupils received their GCSE results and it wasn’t surprising as 95% of pupils achieved five or more A*-C grades.
The year 12 boys were especially proud of themselves when they discovered 100% of them achieved five or more A*-C grades and 57% got five or more A*- C including English and maths.
Principal Mr Michael Allen said,
I am delighted that our year 12 pupils have achieved the best GCSE results in Lisneal College.
It is important to also commend pupils who faced many challenges and achieved amazing success by showing determination and dedication. For some young people a D-G grade can be a tremendous achievement and we should equally recognise such success.
We must never forget that kindness, respect and teamwork do not come with GCSE grades, but if they did, the students of Lisneal College would be top of the league. Results do not define you- your actions do!
I also would like to take the opportunity to commend and thank the pupils, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, governors, parents and the local community for all their hard work and support.
