The school came up trumps with senior pupils scooping 1st place and the infant pupils winning a respectable 53rd in the online Sumdog Competition. Almost 6000 schools in the UK participated. The average class size in most of these schools is around 25, similar to Carnalbanagh’s total enrolment!

The school is delighted that their pupils succeeded against competitors from all corners of the UK!

Alison Killough, Principal, Carnalbanagh Primary School commented:

"This is the ultimate success for remote learning. Pupils participated in this National Numeracy Competition from their homes whilst adhering to the Government's lockdown rules. This shows the strength and spirit of our school community in the face of such adversity. I am immensely proud of our pupils and our school and their amazing accomplishment."
