Banbridge Area Learning Community congratulates pupils on results

All of the schools in the Banbridge Area Learning Community (BALC) are very pleased with their achievements in GCSE, AS and A Levels this year.

Banbridge Academy GCSE students 2020

Robust systems had been implemented to ensure that the Centre Assessed Grades were fair and represented the true potential of the pupils.

This has been an unprecedented and very different type of academic year for young people, their parents and their teachers. School leaders worked together throughout lockdown, using a range of online tools, in order to meet the needs of the pupils and communities in which they serve. The Class of 2020 are to be commended for their resilience and their maturity in following the Government Guidelines.

The excellent GCSE results achieved are due to the sustained commitment of the students, the support of their parents and the professionalism and dedication of colleagues. Public examinations were cancelled for the first time in history and the BALC are delighted that all the hard work of the pupils and teachers has ensured that young people have been acknowledged and recognised.

The BALC congratulated all of their students and wished them every success as they progress to the next stage of their educational journey.

Mr R S McLoughlin (Banbridge Academy), Mr A Bell (Banbridge High School), Mr I McConaghy (Dromore High School), Mrs A Anderson (Newbridge Integrated School), Mrs McCullough (Rathriland High School) and Mrs R Woods (St Patrick’s College).
