CSSC and SUC affirm commitment to collaboration

The Controlled Schools’ Support Council (CSSC) and Stranmillis University College (SUC) have today, Monday, 21 January 2019, signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations.

“CSSC and Stranmillis have already forged a good working relationship, and this MoU confirms that the organisations will continue to work together in the best interests of all controlled schools in Northern Ireland,” said Barry Mulholland, CSSC Chief Executive.

“Opportunities for collaboration exist for teacher professional learning, research and encouraging evidence-based practice in the controlled sector, and CSSC officers are looking forward to working with their colleagues at SUC,” he added.

Dr Anne Heaslett, Principal of Stranmillis University College commented: ‘Building a strong collaborative relationship with the Controlled Schools’ Support Council will enable the College to take forward its response to the ‘Learning Leaders: A Strategy for Teacher Professional Learning’.

“Only by working together can we empower the teaching profession to strengthen its professionalism and expertise to meet the challenging educational needs of children and young people in the 21st century.”
