Church leaders show their appreciation to all those working in controlled schools

At the end of the academic year, the leaders of the three churches which make up the Transferor Representatives’ Council (TRC), have commended the efforts and commitment of all staff, teachers, Principals and governors in the controlled school sector.

The Rt Rev Dr David Bruce, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, Rev Dr Thomas McKnight, President of the Methodist Church in Ireland and the Most Revd John McDowell, Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland have written separately to express their gratitude. They have acknowledged the enormity of the challenges faced by all working in education and in the controlled sector in particular, at the end of an unprecedented school year.

The churches work collectively through the TRC in respect of education matters in Northern Ireland and nominate governors to serve on the boards of controlled schools.

The controlled school community is a rich and diverse sector inclusive of all faiths and none. CSSC welcomes the support of the church leaders as we mark the end of this school year.

All at CSSC join with the church leaders in encouraging Principals, teachers and staff to take a well-earned break over the next few weeks, in preparation for the new school year.

CSSC is delighted to share these letters of appreciation from the three church leaders with you.
