Believe, achieve, succeed - Abbey goes from strength to strength

Abbey Community College students have celebrated academic excellence again with tremendous GCSE and A-level results in August 2018. The upward trend in overall results has continued for the second consecutive year.

In total, 96% of all year 12 students were entered for five or more GCSEs. Of these students, 66% achieved five or more A*-C grades, 98% were successful in attaining three or more A*- C grades, and 91% achieved five or more A*-E.

At A-level 66% of students achieved three or more A*-C grades. An outstanding 86% of all entries gained at least one A*-C grade and 100% of students achieved two or more A-levels at grades A*-E.

Principal Maria Quinn said

“The Abbey family is hugely proud of all our GCSE and A-level students and their amazing achievements.

“These results are testament to high quality teaching, the support and encouragement of staff and the students’ hard work and commitment.

“We are extremely proud of the many students who achieved their personal best right across the curriculum, often exceeding their expectations.

“Abbey Community College celebrates everyone’s success; staff and students have worked hard together, been supported by parents and we all enjoy the rewards of all that has been achieved.

“The pupils thoroughly deserve their success and have certainly made our school motto, ‘Believe, Achieve, Succeed’, a reality“

Jayne Millar Head of Education and Support at CSSC said

“We are absolutely delighted for the pupils and school community at Abbey Community College.

“Congratulations must go the pupils and also to the Principal, teaching staff, year heads and parents who have helped these students to realise their potential. They can now look to their futures with confidence.

“We wish all the students continued success in education, training or the world of work. Their time at Abbey has given them a strong foundation whichever path they choose to take.”
