Year 10 pupils from Banbridge Academy, Sophie Moore and Olivia Miskimmons, were winners of County Down regional finals ‘Big School Cook Off Competition’.
To qualify, the pupils had to work as a pair to submit a two-course recipe for a couple, using local ingredients within a budget of £5. They also had to submit a photograph of their final dish.
Sophie and Olivia had an hour to prepare, cook and present their dish to an esteemed panel of judges at the regional finals, which took place in Regent House on 30 January 2018.
The pupils will go up against seven other pairs in the grand final on 21 March 2018 which takes place in Belfast Metropolitan College.
The cookery competition is organised by Mount Charles and run in association with the Irish News and Business in the Community.
